Grade 8 Science Studies Materials
Tuesday, March 9, 2010 11:02 AM -0500By: Blake Middle School
Our Grade 8 Science classes began a unit on Materials last week. This unit investigates how scientists select, produce, and process materials for a wide range of uses.

Students study how civilizations from ancient times to the present have been connected to the materials they have learned to craft.

The first activity in this unit is titled "Differentiating Humans from Other Organisms"  and challenge students to complete a number of manipulative tasks without the use of their thumbs.
